MA Health IT Listening Tours – Update

Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA, the federal government is providing both administrative funding for Pennsylvania and incentive payments to Medicaid providers for the implementation of health information technology and the exchange of electronic health records. This is a unique opportunity for Pennsylvania providers to obtain funding for implementing electronic information systems that will improve coordination of care for them and the consumers they serve.

The Department of Public Welfare is undertaking a series of Listening Tours across the commonwealth to present the vision of the MA Health IT initiative to key stakeholders and obtain their input on the process. These tours are designed to engage community partners and providers in the development of strategic health information technology initiatives. Prevent Suicide with Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Coalition

The Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Coalition invites you to join our efforts to prevent suicide by becoming a member of the coalition. Suicide prevention work groups have developed statewide suicide prevention plans, planned conferences, and held events over the past years. It is now time to develop the Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Coalition to move prevention efforts forward. It is the goal of the Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Coalition Steering Committee to develop a statewide coalition with strong regional presence. Ultimately, regional representatives will be elected from the membership to lead regional efforts. But, this must all start with a strong membership base. The combined efforts of many individuals can make a difference.
