MHAPA Home / Peer Support

Advocacy

One of MHAPA’s core values is effective mental health advocacy in local communities, the health care industry, and government bodies, businesses, and other institutions.

To help ensure that public policy development and implementation supports people living with mental illness and the principles of recovery and resiliency, MHAPA monitors legislative activities at the state and national level, issuing regular action alerts to keep our stakeholders informed and encourage them to act when necessary.

Coalitions and Advisory Groups

MHAPA is a leader across the state in issues related to mental health advocacy and policy. We regularly serve on coalitions and advisory groups that advocate on behalf of adults living with mental illness and children and youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. Below is a list of coalitions and advisory groups on which MHAPA currently serves or has served in the past.
