Anita Bono is grateful for second chances—to be a mother to her daughter, a grandmother to three grandchildren, and to find love and companionship with her fiancé George Rohde. She’s also grateful to have the opportunity to give back and support others in need.
After years of self-medicating with drugs and alcohol, Anita found herself unable to numb away the shame and remorse resulting from her addictive behavior. She reconnected with a strong moral compass her father had instilled in her and looked to her faith in God to lead her on the clean and sober path. She was able to gain clarity around her struggles when she addressed long standing mental health issues, and was encouraged to become involved with the POWER program at Montgomery County Community College. Along with the joy of learning she experienced, she met George.
Anita is the evidence of how there is invaluable worth in an act of faith.
